1912 Sale of Brooke Hall Estate

On 13th July 1912, just three months after the sinking of Titanic and 2 years before the first world war, M/s Sewell and Brereton, Land Agents, 17, Prince of Wales Road, Norwich were instructed to sell the 'exceptionally choice' Brooke Hall Estate amounting to in its entirety about 2,960 acres.

The particulars describe the the estate forming 'a most enjoyable Sporting and Residential Estate which, moreover, produces a substantial rent-roll, amounting at the present low rents to about £3,150 per annum, including a moderate estimate for the House but without any allowance for the Sporting or Growing Timber, an item of great value and from which a heavy return can be obtained at once.'
