About Me

Born in Norfolk 42 years ago, I have lived in both the parishes of Howe and more recently Brooke for over a decade with my wife Philippa and our two young girls Susan and Laura.

I work locally in Great Yarmouth where our family firm has been agricultural merchants for over 190 years.

At University in Reading, I gained a first-class degree in Agriculture and later a Nuffield Scholarship to study in the United States.  I know that the knowledge and experience gained locally and internationally will help me serve this very rural ward - Countryside issues are never as simple as they first seem and effective representation requires an understanding of the whole rural economy

I have varied interests including having sailed across the Atlantic in a square-rigged ship. I enjoy the Station 146 control tower meetings and was involved with raising money for the 2nd Air Division Library at The Forum in Norwich.  In warmer weather I like to garden and tinker with my little grey fergie tractor called Maggie or drive around in my Lotus Elise.

I am also a member of the Norfolk Broads Yacht Club and enjoy sailing our river cruiser 222 Swallowtail.

I am Leader of the Conservative Group on South Norfolk District Council.
